NOKIA Lumia Live Launch Lights Up London

This is just beyond spectacular. For the launch of their new Lumia 800 smartphone, Nokia lit up the sky in London with a 4D light show projected on the Millbank Tower accompanied by an original track and live mixing by deadmau5. On top of that, Nokia incorporated a LIVE online broadcast of the event on their Facebook Page.

It’s been a long time since I have seen something on this scale for a product launch. I hope it’s a sign that more cool and amazing promotions using multi-media on multi-channels are on the horizon.

NOKIA LIGHT UP THE NIGHT WITH LUMIA LIVE

Tuesday, November 29^th: Nokia Lumia Live – Millbank Tower on the banks of River Thames was turned into a living, breathing entity last night (mon) as Nokia celebrated the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone with the most spectacular light show the capital has ever seen.

Millbank was plunged into darkness with the iconic Millbank Tower acting as the canvas for a never-before-seen spectacular. Each of the 120 metre high building’s 800 windows were covered with vinyl as 16 powerful projectors, stationed 300 metres away on the other side of the river, beamed 4D images onto the structure, making it seem like huge butterflies were flying across the London skyline and that the tower was spinning around. Billed as the “future of live events” the spectacular show was accompanied by music from super producer deadmau5, who created exclusive remixes for the performance – adding the 4th dimension, and the event was broadcast live online to http://www.Facebook.com/Nokia.uk

The event on the 28th November was free for all spectators, who were able to view the half hour performance from the North and South sides of the River Thames.
