Starflex has commenced a program to develop environmentally responsible banner materials across its range. The first in its range to fall under the environmentally responsible range is Starflex Textile which from now on will be free from PVC, heavy metals, fungicides, phthalates and will emit zero VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
The company also states that the range will be M1, B1, NFPA 701 fire retardant compliant (with an optional halogen-free formula).
The company says it decision is based upon market demand from its distributors and end customers from more than 100 countries.
The new generation of Starflex Textiles will see PVC coatings replaced with a polyurethane blend coating, while advances are being made with towards the adoption of acrylic coatings.
