Guerrilla Art! Paper Book Sculptures Pop Up In Libraries And Bookstores in Edinburgh

Since last Spring, and as recently as May 17th of this year, an anonymous female artist has been leaving intricate sculptures made from books throughout Edinburgh libraries and bookstores. Notes attached read “this is a gift for you in support of libraries, books, words, ideas…”  and a reference to the book the sculpture was based.

Needless to say, the buzz on books and these sculptures is high, but the need to know who the artist is seems quite the opposite. In a poll taken in Edinburgh, people actually preferred not to know her identity and enjoy the fun. I can’t imagine that happening in the US. We would not only know her name by now but every personal detail of her life thanks to the tabloids. Seem like the Scots have a better perspective to me, but regardless of that you MUST see her art, its incredible!

Do a search for Edinburgh Book Sculptures to see photo galleries on the web.  Here is a BBC news report and Ive posted a bunch of the images on our Facebook Page and Pinterest
