Print Samples: Menus Make a Difference!

print samples of menus for restaurants

One of the early segments of PrintSampleTV featured an important marriage of content and paper embodied in a restaurant menus. Full disclosure! Our family owns three restaurants and because we are also in the print industry, we wanted to balance our needs with what might be new and interesting. When we create the segment called “Menu Printed on Synthetic Substrate” we focused on a product from TerraSlate.

This substrate is interesting to work with. It wants to be printed by toner devices, but it accepts deep rich coverage, which our menu features. It is also waterproof and largely tear-proof, which is why I featured it. In restaurants, there are always spills and splatters. After some testing, we found that the menus held up for a good long time, held their color, and kept us looking good.

During 2020 we moved away from the specialty paper to a heavyweight bond as we were changing the menu constantly and the cost/benefit didn’t work. We are looking forward to later in 2021 and a chance to try some of the newer papers, like the antimicrobial papers that are coming to market!
