Print To Trend The Planet Through Social Media And #IPD14!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Hear Ye… the official countdown to International Print Day has begun and it’s time to start getting prepared!

Here is a recap before we move on…

The concept: On October 8, 2014, the global on-line print community will join forces and share information about print and integrated marketing through social media, using the hashtag #IPD14

ipd-icon_newThe mission: #IPD14 trends the planet, people sharing information with #IPD14 grow their reach and connections, people seeking information about print and integrated marketing will find it under one search term, industry social media nay-sayers will finally see the POWER in these platforms and get on board, and curious non-industry people will see our stream and check it out – hopefully resulting in Print gaining some street cred, and lots of additional sharing and ReTweets!

How to participate: Include #IPD14 on EVERYTHING you share on October 8th through ANY social platform. Twitter is mot important to document a worldwide trending event, but the term is searchable on the Internet and in many of the other platforms. If you see relevant information about print and integrated marketing in your social streams, tag it with #IPD14 and send it back out into the world.

We are calling upon ALL of the multi-channel/cross-media advocates, and people and companies already using social media, to help lead the way by example and share info about #IPD14 with your networks and customers. Let them know how can they join in, or watch, and get them invested in helping PRINT TREND THE PLANET!

We are calling upon ALL of the Industry Orgs to share info about #IPD14 with your members, and use #IPD14 as a teaching opportunity regarding the importance of social media marketing in 2014 and beyond. And make sure you share info ABOUT your org and benefits for joining during the event!

social media reachThe information you share on October 8, 2014 might be the most significant you have ever shared. The possibility for exponential shares and ReTweets is certainly there, so make good decisions when it comes to blatantly harking your goods and services vs sharing case studies, cool projects you have worked on, tips for best practices, strategies for achieving best results, and things of that nature relevant to your business. After all, which would you click on – a glorified ad, or a cool story about a cool project?

Since #IPD14 will be filled with individual shares, we are proposing one topic to unify us even further and create some great knowledge sharing from every point of view. We request that ALL participants send out your answer to this question on October 8, 2014: Why Print?  You can tweet it, post it, pin it, make a video or a slide share, write a blog, just remember to include #IPD14 in the title and as a hashtag when you share it so we can find it!

This is the first global on-line print and integrated marketing event delivered through social media. Don’t miss the opportunity to come together without the limitations of time and borders to network, share, and learn from each other. And when Print trends the planet, we can finally lay the “dying” rumor down to rest in peace, and get on with playing out part in the communications evolution!

Everything you need to know about #IPD14 is here, but if you have any questions at all, or want to participate by hosting an “#IPD14 Hot Spot” or managing a twitter account for your country or city, please get in touch: info@internationalprintday.org
