Printing Impressions Launches PI Xchange with an EXCLUSIVE Interview with Thomas J. Quinlan III, President and CEO of RR Donnelley

Thomas Quinlan RR Donnelley

Attention Printerverse!!! There is something very GROOVY coming your way… #PIXlive!

Printing Impressions has recently updated PIWorld and added the PI Xchange video platform. To further build upon their evolution from a publishing company to a media company as Dave Leskusky, president of NAPCO Media, talks about in this interview, PI Xchange will bring printers together through interactive, peer-to-peer, live video events for the advancement of the industry.

The first #PIXlive event is this Thursday, March 12th at 3 PM ET, and they have really outdone themselves by securing one of the hardest interviews in the industry to get… Mark Michelson will speak with Thomas J. Quinlan III, president and CEO of RR Donnelley! Because Mark needs to do the interview in NYC in the morning due to scheduling issues, in this case the premiere broadcast of the recorded interview will take place at 3 PM ET, accompanied by the #PIXlive chat so everyone in most time zones can join in. It will be like going to a movie with all of your favorite Print friends!

What did PI have to say…

“I’m very excited to be able to interview Tom Quinlan in an exclusive, one-on-one setting,” said Mark Michelson, editorial director/editor-in-chief of Printing Impressions. “With revenues of over $10 billion, RR Donnelley is the largest printer in North America and arguably the most influential company. But it has tended to maintain a somewhat low profile historically. I’m really looking forward to hearing about Tom Quinlan’s vision for RR Donnelley specifically and for the graphic arts industry overall.”

I am feeling GROOVY about this event and initiative, so I decided to have a little fun with Mark Subers (left) and Mark Michelson with this pic!

Here are the details:

To join in on Thursday, March 12th, click over to the #PIXlive Channel via Livestream at 3 PM ET. “Follow” the channel for automatic updates of new events! To chat, you will need to login…to watch, I don’t believe so. I will also be live tweeting from @PrintMediaCentr and @PIConnects will be facilitating the live twitter chat with hashtag #PIXlive.

Additional info:

PIXchange Channel – cool “The Week That Was” recaps, community content and more!

@PIConnects – if you aren’t already following on Twitter (and you should be!!)

PIworld.com for industry news, and great blogs like my Perceptions from a Print Pro

PI LinkedIn Group – I recently joined and worth checking out for networking alone.

I hung out with Mark Subers and Mark Michelson at #DscoopX and they really had me at, hello, with #PIXlive. Initiatives like this that allow the community to come together, freely exchange ideas and knowledge without an admission cost or membership fee, and enable us to learn from each other, is my kind of initiative. The PI peeps are working hard to help us do our jobs better, and make us all better in the process. That type of industry support is the framework for our futures.

See you on Thursday!
