Sappi Fine Paper Europe said that it will increase prices for its specialty products in European and overeseas markets by 8% for deliveries as of November 1. The increase follows an earlier one by Sappi this year as demand for specialty products remains strong.
“Our first price rise has barely compensated for the extraordinary cost increases” said Gregory Gettinger, Director, Specialties at Sappi Fine Paper Europe. “The upwards trend of cost increases in oil related additives, starches and wood is having a serious effect on our margins and makes our latest price increase unavoidable.”
