Static and projected images in perfect harmony

This is another great example of a giant static wall poster coupled with back projection to dramatic and popular effect.

The execution took place in support of the soft drink’s latest OOH football world cup campaign in Istanbul. The project was devised by outdoor sign specialist CIPS Reklam which is also based in the Turkish city.

Managing director Kaan Savul told Graphic Display Community that his client was initially looking for an add-on to the static sign which would be ‘spectacular’. Having looked at the product and its context, Savul’s creative team came up with the idea of filling the Coke bottle with balls and having it overflow. Initially, says Savul, the first demos had the bubble movement inside the bottle only. But then the idea of expanding the dynamic effect out of the bottle and into the background was realised.

“We tried it first with 10k ANSI Lumen projectors but even with a low level of area light (2 lux) we decided to use 2 x 22k ANSI Lumen projectors which, in the end, was a good decision,” says Savul. “The projection distance is around 38 metres and the projection field is 25 x 15 metres.”
